HOW THE DAY WENT

POLINOMIOS won with 28,358 points, just 1,396 ahead of MHARHIO: a day settled by a hair. ADRIAN rounds out the podium with 24,668.

THE SCREEN

It used map 1 of the 3 that TETRIS has. It was played at level 3, with the same seed for everyone: the same enemies and the same pieces in the same order.

THE MUSIC

Korobeiniki (Коробейники), canción popular rusa, s. XIX (letra de Nekrásov, 1861).

A pedlars' song set to a poem by Nekrasov. Half the world knows it for another reason: it is the Game Boy Tetris music.

It is in the public domain, transcribed to chiptune with square and triangle waves, the way it would sound on an Atari 2600.

ABOUT TODAY'S GAME

The day's 7-bag comes from the seed: everyone gets exactly the same pieces in the same order, so the board compares decisions, not luck.

The day's map is garbage rows at the bottom, and the parameter is the starting level. Level goes up every ten lines and gravity drops from 22 ticks per cell to a minimum of 2.

· A tetris pays 1200 and four single lines pay 160. Digging a one-column well and waiting for the bar is by far the profitable play.
