HOW THE DAY WENT
Monday, October 26 brought ASTEROIDS, at level 5, and 5 people played.
ADRIAN won by a street with 2,920 points, 1,970 more than DEMONPRO5433 in second. BIT METEORO #3 rounds out the podium with 670.
Among the top 5, the average was 1,044 points.
THE SCREEN
Clearing the first screen leads on to the rest, in an order that depends on the day. The same seed for everyone: the same enemies and pieces in the same order.
THE MUSIC
Chopin wrote it in 1834 and never wanted it published. It came out after his death, in 1855, at the decision of his friend Julian Fontana.
Public domain, as square- and triangle-wave chiptune.
ABOUT TODAY'S GAME
You turn in 16 directions from a fixed table (no trigonometry, so the replay is identical on any engine), thrust with up and shoot with FIRE. The ship keeps its inertia: there is no brake. Down is hyperspace: you vanish for a second and come back somewhere at random; one time in eight you do not come back, and to use it again you wait for the green dot on the scoreboard.
- The score is in the small ones: breaking a large one all the way down is 20 + 100 + 400 spread out. Never leave small ones alive to chase another large one.
