SNAKE

Eat fruit, grow and don't hit yourself.
Free play does not count for the leaderboard: it keeps your best on this device only. Today's challenge is one run per person.
HOW IT PLAYS
The snake runs on a 16x17 board of large cells (10 px, sized for a thumb on a phone). Every fruit makes it longer, and every four fruits it moves one tick faster: it starts at one cell every 8 ticks and can reach one every 3.
You die hitting a wall, the edge or yourself. The day's map decides the extra walls, so the same Snake plays differently on Monday and on Thursday.

TO SCORE MORE
· Going fast is not only riskier, it pays more. At top speed a fruit is worth 35 instead of 10, so surviving long with few fruits scores worse than eating often.
· The cell your tail is on is legal if you are not eating that step: the tail moves on the same tick. That cell gets you out of many traps.
· Sweep the board zigzagging along an edge instead of going straight at the fruit. At one cell every 3 ticks there is no time to improvise a double turn.
· When a fruit shows up in a corridor closed by the day's walls, go in from the side that lets you come out forwards, not backwards.
