The Nokia shooter, turned vertical.
Free play does not count for the leaderboard: it keeps your best on this device only. Today's challenge is one run per person.
HOW IT PLAYS
The shooter that came on Nokia phones, turned vertical: your ship hugs the left edge, enemies come in from the right and you shoot that way. The corridor is narrow and tall, so the game is dodging up and down while you clear the front.
The map is the level's score sheet: each line is a wave spread across eight lanes. When the lines run out the boss comes in, and killing it starts another lap on the same map, faster and with a tougher boss.
CONTROLS
Up and down move the ship; left and right push it forward or back within the left third. FIRE shoots, with six ticks of reload.
On screen: UP/DOWN FIRE SHOOTS

TO SCORE MORE
· Everything multiplies by the lap, so reaching the second boss alive beats squeezing the first level. The boss pays 500, 1000, 1500...
· Pushing forward with right buys reaction time against bullets but puts you in the lane of whatever is entering. Pulling back does the opposite. Almost everything is played in those two thirds.
· The weapon pickup (the flashing icon) gives a three-way spread for ten seconds. Save it for a battleship or for when the boss is already on screen.
· Asteroids cannot be destroyed and take a whole lane: when two show up in the same wave, pick your gap before they arrive, not once they are on you.
