SPACE IMPACT · CHALLENGE OF 2026-10-15
CLOSED · 8 PLAYERS
HOW THE DAY WENT
Thursday, October 15 brought SPACE IMPACT, at level 5, and 8 people played.
ELVIS TECK won by a street with 7,400 points, 3,150 more than FERDAM in second. ADRIAN rounds out the podium with 3,870.
Among the top 8, the average was 2,491 points.
THE SCREEN
It started on screen 2 of the 2 that SPACE IMPACT has; clearing it leads on to the rest, in an order that depends on the day. It was played at level 5, with the same seed for everyone: the same enemies and the same pieces in the same order.
THE MUSIC
Sinfonía n.º 5, op. 67, primer movimiento (reducción para piano), L. van Beethoven, 1808.
The four opening notes, three short and one long, are probably the most recognisable motif in classical music.
It is in the public domain, transcribed to chiptune with square and triangle waves, the way it would sound on an Atari 2600.
ABOUT TODAY'S GAME
The shooter that came on Nokia phones, turned vertical: your ship hugs the left edge, enemies come in from the right and you shoot that way. The corridor is narrow and tall, so the game is dodging up and down while you clear the front.
The map is the level's score sheet: each line is a wave spread across eight lanes. When the lines run out the boss comes in, and killing it starts another lap on the same map, faster and with a tougher boss.
· Everything multiplies by the lap, so reaching the second boss alive beats squeezing the first level. The boss pays 500, 1000, 1500...
