THE SCREEN

It used map 2 of the 3 that PIPE MANIA has. It was played at level 5, with the same seed for everyone: the same enemies and the same pieces in the same order.

THE MUSIC

Invención n.º 13, BWV 784, J. S. Bach, 1723.

One of the most played inventions: the two voices chase each other with the same broken arpeggio, in A minor.

It is in the public domain, transcribed to chiptune with square and triangle waves, the way it would sound on an Atari 2600.

ABOUT TODAY'S GAME

Lay pipe on a 10x10 grid before the water arrives. This is no leisurely puzzle: the water starts on its own once the delay runs out and from then on advances, pipe or no pipe. Every round squeezes from three sides: the delay shrinks (from about 15 seconds to 3 by round 8), the water runs faster (down to half a second per cell) and more cells are required (one and a half more per round).

Pieces come in a queue of five and cannot be chosen: you place whichever is at the front, and whatever doesn't fit has to be spent somewhere. Clearing a round needs a minimum run that keeps growing; every extra cell is points.

· Pieces that don't fit aren't discarded, they are dumped. Put them clear of the route and close to the cursor — walking to a corner costs more time than the water gives you.
